More about me and my photography...

Get to know me & my photography...

Since I'm sharing photo's, here's a little background for you:
This pic is of me when I was 19 years old...

Me at 19

I didn't take this pic. It was in my yearbook (as I'm sure you can tell by the way it looks).
I could still walk at the time. Wasn't I a hottie? Lol!

This next photo is of me and my fiance', Vince. It's one of my favorite pics of us together. I didn't take this pic either. It was taken by my social worker while I was a resident of a nursing  home in the County hospital. I'm sure you can tell by the look on my face how in love I am with Vince....

The next photo I took of myself last Halloween. I dressed up as a witch to go to my Moms "kids" Halloween party. My Mom has full custody of my Brothers 3 youngest children. There was a bonfire in the backyard and I went to tell scary stories to the kids. I read a version of Bloody Mary for the girls and a version of The Headless Horseman for the boys. They loved it!...

Now... on to the photos I'VE taken...

It's no longer taboo...

Disability & Sex

It's no longer taboo

Do disabled people have sex? How can they if they can't even walk or go to the bathroom by themselves? Can they even feel it? Does it cause them pain?

Interested in the answers to those questions OR are you one of those people who are interested in possibly dating a disabled person? Do you have your eye on a good looking guy or girl and the only thing holding you back is the fact that they're disabled? Let me ease your mind a little...

Today's topic is staring...

STARING: to gaze fixedly and intently, especially with the eyes wide open.

Growing up as a disabled child, I had to deal with both children and adults staring at me a lot. When it comes to young children (and when I say young, I mean under 8 yrs old), it's almost expected but when it comes to adults, they should have the wisdom to know better. Parents should teach their children to have basic manners by the age of 8 yrs old....

Welcome to Life According To Lily!

Let me introduce myself...

My name is Lily and I am a passionate, thirty-something. I live with my fiance and three cats; Little guy, A.Z. and Andrew.

I consider myself a pretty open-minded woman. I'm articulate, artistic, funny, intelligent, warm, understanding and a lot of other warm and fuzzy descriptive words. I have been writing since I was in grade school and published here and there along the way. Right now my passion is photography. I can't wait for the weather to break so I can really break in the my camera.
